A lifelong native of the coast, Glynn County’s Nick Luppino has dedicated his life to educating the future. However, after more than 15 years of teaching class in the schools of Glynn County and his native New Jersey, Luppino has decided to help “insure” futures in a whole new way.

The St. Simons businessman is setting sail on a new adventure as he launches Brightway, The Luppino Agency insurance office this Monday. The St. Andrews Court branch of the national insurance powerhouse is the dream of the 43-year-old longtime educator. Nick and his wife of nearly 20 years, Lindsay, both come from the education world. And as of next week, the Southeast Georgia couple will own and operate their own small businesses in Brunswick.

“We have both chosen paths that allow us to continue to ‘teach’ in one capacity or another. That’s where our hearts are,” Luppino said. While Brightway’s newest franchisee will be unlocking the doors on Glynn County’s newest business in a few days, his wife already owns and operates a music studio in the same complex. Lindsay taught music in the educational system for 20 years.

Coming from true blue-collar roots in the Garden State, Luppino knew that being able to work in an industry that put his teaching passion to good use would be second to none.

“My dad has spent his career as an HVAC specialist,” Luppino added. “Whether it was while he owned his own HVAC business, or worked for someone else, I was exposed to it enough to teach me about my future. The business side of it interested me, but not the crawling around in attics. It’s a trade that raised our family. I’m excited to help hard-working families protect the lives they have worked so hard to build.”

Since a small child, the York College of Pennsylvania and College of New Jersey alum has wanted to have his own business. So, after 15 years of educating the minds of students along the East Coast, this veteran teacher is teaching his former students a lesson to remember. “Helping others better themselves is a job I’d do for free. It has my heart,” Luppino added. “In the insurance world, I get the benefit of doing what I do best. Being able to teach those who call Southeast Georgia home how to safeguard the lives they’ve built, all while making a living, is the perfect path for me.”

Holding a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in education, Luppino and his family currently call St. Simons Island home.
