A former Colorado Department of Corrections officer will be safeguarding the Centennial State in a brand-new way beginning next week. Inspired by family in the industry, 28-year-old Colorado Springs resident Adam Primrose is launching the latest venture in the Rocky Mountains this summer.

The Woodland Park High School alum will unveil Brightway, The Primrose Agency insurance office in El Paso County on Monday.

Son of a local long-time small business owner, Primrose decided to take his passion for law enforcement and turn it into a business designed to help protect Greater Colorado Springs families.

“Before getting into insurance, I worked in a prison. I had plans to become a Sheriff’s Deputy, but a knee injury changed all of that,” Primrose said. “Inspired by my sister who works in insurance, I made the move into sales and insurance, as well.”

Hit by a car while riding a bicycle last year, Primrose’s sister went airborne and crashed into the windshield of the car. “She suffered a lot of injuries and really opened my eyes to how important this line of work is in our area,” Primrose added. The new agency owner’s mother was also hit by a car while on motorcycle when she was younger. “Being able to provide a service like this is so important, but it means so much more when it’s personal. It is something I really connect with. Protecting family comes naturally. But protecting friends and neighbors is something you truly need a heart for.”

The Farmingdale Drive location of the national insurance franchisor is now one of more than 300 locations across the United States.
